Stephen Wallace is a director/ writer/teacher who has directed six feature films; STIR, THE BOY WHO HAD EVERYTHING, FOR LOVE ALONE, BLOOD OATH, TURTLE BEACH and A SUBURBAN LOVE STORY as well as producing and directing over 20 plays. Stephen originally trained with Hayes Gordon at the Ensemble Theatre and has taught screen acting at Screenwise for the last 15 years, ran his own Grotowski actor’s workshop (2001-2008) and numerous other actor’s workshops. He has also taught ‘directing actors’ at the AFTRS (1992-5). He has directed numerous television productions including THE LOVE LETTERS FROM TERALBA ROAD (Ch 7), CAPTIVES OF CARE (ABC) (both AFI winners) WOMEN OF THE SUN (SBS) MAIL ORDER BRIDE, HUNGER and OLIVE (ABC) as well AS FLYING DOCTORS and WATER RATS (Ch 9).
Over twenty actors from his films have won or been nominated for acting awards. Actors he has worked with include Bryan Brown, Sam Neal, Russell Crowe, John Polson, Justine Saunders, Greta Scacchi, Helen Buday, Deborah Unger, Chris McQuade, Gia Carides, Ray Meagher, Paul Prior, Michael Gow, Jack Thompson, Art Malick, George Takei, Ray Barrett, John Clarke, Jason Donovan, John Bach, Terry O’Quinn, Max Phipps and Garry Waddell.
